Masterfly® Bait is a highly effective solution for fly control. It rapidly reduces fly populations while providing a long-lasting residual effect. With a single application, its action remains active for up to 8 months, helping to significantly reduce the presence of flies on poultry farms and avoiding the problems and costs associated with their proliferation.
This product has been specifically designed to efficiently combat fly infestations in livestock production facilities, where their presence poses a serious challenge to animal health and welfare. Masterfly® Bait ensures fast, effective, long-lasting protection with simple application.
The advantages of Masterfly® Bait are exceptional:
-Formulated with DINOTEFURAN, a high-efficacy next-generation insecticide molecule. -Contains a pheromone attractant to irresistibly draw flies. -Long-lasting efficacy for up to 8 months. -Ultra-fast results within hours.
Innovative composition
The composition of Masterfly® Bait is specially formulated for fly control. It combines two insecticidal active ingredients, Dinotefuran and Tetramethrin, together with a pheromone attractant to ensure reliable bait performance.
Field trials conducted on houseflies (Musca domestica) and stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans) demonstrate that the product is highly effective in controlling both species for periods of up to 8 months.
The impact of flies on the poultry sector
Masterfly® Bait controls flies in poultry facilities, where they represent a major problem—not only causing annoyance to birds, but also acting as disease vectors, impairing production performance, and generating economic losses for producers.
The main negative effects of fly infestations in poultry are:
Stress and restlessness in birds
o The constant presence of flies disturbs hens, preventing normal rest and feeding. o Stress reduces egg production and negatively affects animal welfare.
Disease transmission
o Flies are mechanical vectors of numerous pathogens (bacteria, viruses, parasites).
o They can spread diseases such as Salmonella, Campylobacter, E. coli, Newcastle disease, or even coccidiosis.
Contamination of eggs and feed
o Flies land on eggs, feed, drinkers, and surfaces, contaminating them with microorganisms and feces.
Increased antibiotic use
o As disease incidence rises, the need for veterinary treatments may increase, compromising biosecurity and profitability.
Poor hygiene conditions
o Heavy fly presence undermines the perception of cleanliness and control across the farm.
o It also affects the producer’s image during inspections or audits.
Problems for staff
o In addition to the birds, workers experience discomfort and health risks, impacting day-to-day operations.
Very simple application.
Applying Masterfly® Bait is simple and effective. It is supplied as a water-soluble powder ready to be diluted in water and applied by brush painting. For optimal performance, mix 100 g of product with 80 ml of water, which treats a surface area of up to 100 m². For application, it is recommended to paint 30 cm x 30 cm panels made of plastic or non-absorbent wood and, once dry, hang them on walls frequented by flies.
Packaging: 125 g and 500 g containers.
Measures for fly prevention and elimination
Flies represent a recurring problem in poultry facilities, affecting animal welfare, biosecurity, and productivity. Therefore, implementing hygienic, physical, and chemical measures is essential for their prevention and control. Proper control of these insects is fundamental to ensuring bird welfare and production efficiency, as well as meeting the sanitary standards required by the industry. Masterfly® Bait acts by rapidly attracting and eliminating adult flies, significantly reducing their population. Masterfly® Bait maintains its efficacy for up to 8 months, providing a durable solution against fly infestations.
